But before it gets too hectic here...
..... I have just spent a wonderful relaxing weekend in Bath.
..... I have just spent a wonderful relaxing weekend in Bath.
-That's the Beautiful City, not the bubbly wet container kind! LOL :)
My lovely hubby whisked me away for a great Christmas shopping trip to Bath. A belated 20th anniversary pressie (with No kids ;) Way-hey!!)
..I've never been to Bath before, So stunning! It's a mega 3 hour car journey for us, although it took us nearly 5 hours due to delays and traffic jams!! Agh!!
...but the Hotel and the Fantastic sights made up for the tedious journey, it was an excellent trip. We had a fab time, doing the touristy bits, including the Roman Baths etc.
....Just a Lil bit of shopping ;) LOL
Yup, that's me -in the pink scarf :) posing in front of Bath Abbey (LOL)
Wow, Christmas had come early!!
If you have been reading an earlier post, you may have noticed that I took part in altered matchbox trade arranged by Pat...
.....well, as promised here are some pics of the beautiful box of treasures that Lori (from Washington) made for me, for our matchbox trade.
What a fantastic job Lori did! Her matchbox is her first attempt at using embossed metal . Although you wouldn't believe it was a first attempt, because it is brilliant!
I Love it!!

There are so many nifty little treasures in the matchbox - Lori generously managed to cram 41 items into it!! (which strangely enough is my age!! -LOL, did I really admit that!! ;)

I 've spilled everything out and gone through all the little goodies, only problem is I can't fit them all back into the box now!! ;)
Thank you Lori, for a fabby matchbox trade, you did a wonderful job!
...and thanks again to Pat for organising it.
This has been a fun swap
...will look forward to taking part in another after the Holidays....
Thanks for Looking
Jan x

Looks and sounds like a fabulous time. O my I love your inchies. You are very creative.
It's beautiful!! Is the cover of the box embossed metal? Hard to tell in the pic.
Your little getaway looked like alot of fun!!!
Bath is beautiful isn't it..... I went there a few weeks back... we visited the Baths and had tea at the Pump Rooms, loved it. Some of the little shops were lovely, I thought the oldest department store 'Jollys' was so sweet!
What a fun idea with the matchbox trade .... who would have thought you'd get so much in? I remember my children doing this at school, and some of the parents got quite competitive about it!!!!
ps thanks for making me feel better telling me you didn't make all your cards too! :)
Karen

What nice hubby to whisk you away :)

Hi Jan,
thanks for the memories, I lived in warminster 'bout 20yrs aoand every couple of months we went off to Bath shopping and I thought there Maccy D's was the best I had ever had.
Although on time we all ordered a glass of spa water and gosh that was awful.
Noe onto your lovely gift of your brill matchbox swap I can see how that can be competitive as we would do that with the kids on a wet day. It is fun.
Thanks for the fab Winters Day ATC's thay really are delightful.
Have a good day
Chriss x
Ahhhh, have been waiting to see the matchbox you would receive and you must be a happy girl. 41 pieces...wowzaaa! Very sweet, hubby and you going to Bath. Other than US, I went to Ireland a few years back.
I just love the gorgeous photo of the abbey you shared! Would love to return to visit England one day...my folks took me there (and Scotland) when I was ten...and I didn't appreciate all the castles and churches they dragged us around to visit! love your matchbox trinkets too! :)
Lovely post, what a nice getaway!!!
Fab matchbox stuffed to the brim with treasures!
That was a fun swap!

Hi Jan - glad you had a fab time in Bath - isn't it a beautiful city - its only just over an hour away from us but we've only been once! I've only just opened your letter with your inchies in - they are so gorgeous - I'm so sorry I didn't let you know before and the gorgeous Christmas card you sent me - its truly beautiful - thanks so much for joining in with the swap - and I wish you a very wonderful Christmas x
Yep, I'm a bit late in getting here, but it may be because it's across the pond and it took me awhile (grin). I love the decorated matchbox and all the goodies. I think you shared the problem we all had getting things back in the box once the genie let everything out.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Wow, this is soo neat. An amazing amount of fun items all packed into that tiny little match box. How fun! I am so glad you stopped by to say hello today. It is always so much fun meeting new blog friends. Your blog is pretty and full of such creative bits and pieces.
Happy New Year!
