The Summer of Colour # 4 YELLOW

I'm having so much fun with
 Kristin's 'Summer of Colour'
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on all of my colour pieces.
Your kind words have really brightened my days..
-oOo-
It is  inspiring me to create with colours I wouldn't usually use ...
This week is
 YELLOW,
and as much as I love yellow, such a happy colour, but it one of the colours I wouldn't usually gravitate towards when I create something !!

..and what a coincidence ,  I also recieved this lovely bundle of ribbons and buttons from the lovely Ali from Crafty Ribbons
 to create two projects for...
...and has it happens there were lots of yellow goodies in my bundle

So I decided to combine the challenges..and created a 'Yellow' card...
I love this wired ribbon...I pleated it and made a bow with it.

I used lovely retro style papers from 'Cosmo Cricket' ODDS & ENDS collage kit
ribbons/buttons (Crafty Ribbons)
old book page
brown envelope
doily
bingo card and tickets
mini scrabble letters
stitching
distressed with inks and paints.

It's not to late to join in and play along with Kristin's wonderful Summer of Colour Challenge.
...and next week is BROWN. I use brown a lot, so hopefully this should be a easier week for me ! :)
-oOo-
Phew, nearly forgot !!!
....this weeks Bonus Challenge is to incorporate metallics into your work
so I've just added some metal embellies to my card...
(press studs and a pin)
Thanks for Looking !

Full Blooms!

-oOo-
I was lucky enough again to be chosen to take part in another
Ribbon challenge over at Crafty Ribbons
Ribbon Challenge #15
-oOo-
..and this is what the lovely Ali
from Crafty Ribbons sent me to play with...
..the new range of 'Full Bloom' ribbons
Now my task was to create a couple of crafting projects with the ribbons provided.....
-oOo-

Ribbon Project 1
'Full Bloom corsage'
Using 2 of the ribbons, I made a pretty corsage.
by sewing a running stitch along the edges of both lengths of ribbon (separately!!)
Pull the thread
&
Gather up the the ribbon
to create ruffles.
Then place one ruffled ribbon on top of the other.
I've singed the edge of the larger (outside) ribbon with a candle
(see tips on singeing ribbon flowers and other fab ribbon tutorials on the Crafty ribbons Blog)
Add a button to the front centre...
....and a little safety pin on the back
and Hey Presto!.....
A little Summery Ribbon Corsage to brighten up a plain ol' jacket!
-oOo-

Ribbon Project #2
A handbag card
decorated with 2 more different 'Full Bloom' ribbons
...added some buttons, charm, beads, flowers and decorated tag
-oOo-
Ribbon Project #3

Another card
Using 2 more different ribbons from the 'Full Blooms' range
added a rubber stamped image
coloured with promarkers
A little distressing here and there
Buttons and flowers!!

Valentine Ribbons....

Wow, lookie what I received in the post to play with!!

Lot of lovely Valentine Ribbons!!

Over at Crafty Ribbons

Challenge #11

....was to create a couple of crafting projects with the ribbons provided
You could choose either Contemporary or Traditional.

I was one of the lucky ten, taken on, to take part in the challenge..
...so, being as I'm a traditional type of gal,
I went for the Traditional Valentine ribbon selection.

....here is my card and a couple of atc's using the gorgeous Valentine Ribbons!

(I've used an Anita's rubber stamp on the card)
3 different ribbons were used on the card
...and 5 different ribbons were used on the 2 atc's.

So, if you want to get your hands on some fabby ribbons,
Check out Crafty ribbons website.
...they also have a Great January Sale on at the moment!!

Thanks for looking!
