The Summer of Colour # 4 YELLOW

I'm having so much fun with
 Kristin's 'Summer of Colour'
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on all of my colour pieces.
Your kind words have really brightened my days..
-oOo-
It is  inspiring me to create with colours I wouldn't usually use ...
This week is
 YELLOW,
and as much as I love yellow, such a happy colour, but it one of the colours I wouldn't usually gravitate towards when I create something !!

..and what a coincidence ,  I also recieved this lovely bundle of ribbons and buttons from the lovely Ali from Crafty Ribbons
 to create two projects for...
...and has it happens there were lots of yellow goodies in my bundle

So I decided to combine the challenges..and created a 'Yellow' card...
I love this wired ribbon...I pleated it and made a bow with it.

I used lovely retro style papers from 'Cosmo Cricket' ODDS & ENDS collage kit
ribbons/buttons (Crafty Ribbons)
old book page
brown envelope
doily
bingo card and tickets
mini scrabble letters
stitching
distressed with inks and paints.
-oOo-
It's not to late to join in and play along with Kristin's wonderful Summer of Colour Challenge.
...and next week is BROWN. I use brown a lot, so hopefully this should be a easier week for me ! :)
-oOo-
Phew, nearly forgot !!!
....this weeks Bonus Challenge is to incorporate metallics into your work
so I've just added some metal embellies to my card...
(press studs and a pin)
Thanks for Looking !
Jan x

Thanks for calling into my blog and for your comments Jan.... I've just come back from a holiday in Norfolk, so am playing catch-up!
I LOVE your yellow and all the little bits and pieces that you've added. It has a really pretty retro look to it. And what a lovely idea to work with a specific colour each week. I might just try and find time to have a go.

Oh Jan, this is beautiful. I know what you mean not using colours you aren't used to but makes us appreciate them more when we see wonderful creations such as this.
How cool was that getting those yellow buttons and that ribbon is a nice shabby touch.

I love the vintage look that you accomplished with this page. The pleated ribbon is a great addition. I have got to get some of those scrabble pieces for my art. Great job this week.

I am learning so many things during this Summer of colours! But the main one is how boring my birthday cards are!!!
You have such an amazing imagination and good taste!
Since I started taking part on this event I've been collecting all buttons around the house and any sort of fabric and lace that it is pretty enough.
I just need to keep learning from you all and I am sorted! ;o)

Must just tell you Jan, that I went to the Knitting and Stitching Show at AllyPally today and Crafty Ribbons were there - and I saw your yellow card on their display! They have a lot of examples around the top of their stand, but your card really stood out - it's beautiful! That's all, just had to tell you - lol xx
