A taste of the Orient.......

I made this Asian Arch a couple of weeks ago

for the

Inkurable Stampers

Gothic Arch challenge #9

The background is stamped with

(Chinese script background by Personal impressions)

Then distressed it with some coloured inks.

Added a paper cocktail drink umbrella

...and a freebie asian image

which I've added some wings too.

Finished off with a dragonfly and coin charms.

The Asian Arch inspired me to make some Asian dress creations for the

The Artist Trading card swap 'til you drop

ATC swap

The fantastic theme was set by the talented Margaret

( a great mini version of the Dress up Challenge!!)

Our task is to create a pocket atc using the instructions supplied

....then to make a li'l dress to tuck neatly inside the pocket.

Here is what I came up with....

....Using the same (Chinese script Background) Stamp,

Stamped a piece of white card

...then glued the paper from a paper cocktail umbrella to the stamped card

the background stamp shows nicely through the tissue paper :)

....then cut it into a dress shape

...inked a little here and there

...finally added an asian image and charm.

The paper pocket was made from a page with asian script on

distressed with inks

... hand sewn around the edges.

...added a little fake scroll and dragon fly to each pocket

I've really enjoyed making these little dresses

Inchies 'S' and 'T' are for.....

Whooo, it's been a while since my last post!!

...am still here LOL!!

My crafting mojo has been on a little break, maybe due to tiredness- new fur baby and all that!!

Talking of my new fur baby,

Can't believe that we have had Barney for nearly 4 weeks already.

He has settled in so well

Don't be fooled by his cuteness

...He is definately keeping me on my toes LOL!

Now on to some inchy business....

Gonna find that hard, so here goes....

Crafting is my therapy!! Just love trying out new arty-crafty things!
Live in a male orientated household - with my wonderful hubby and 3 lovely sons, even the new pooch is a boy! So I'm truly out-voted!! Funny thing is I was a real tomboy, when I was young, my mum could never get me to wear a skirt, still love my jeans nowadays, but I'm a real girly girl now! Fave colour is pink!! and just lurve pretty girly things! (making up for lost time!!)
I love watching all the home makeover progs on TV, I studied interior design at college and loved it!! Love redecorating rooms in my house - but hates all the prep and cleaning up!!
Likes a bit of tame adventure, especially theme parks! Have swam with Dolphins, been para-sailing, and most recently done some indoor skydiving!
I'm interested in Psychology, and find it really interesting in what makes us all tick!!
Love to read magazines and books (especially autobiographies- think that may have something to with my psychology interest?) nothing better than a quiet moment with a good book/mag and a cuppa!
I'm really into anything Shabby Chic at the moment...and have a bit of a lace and button addiction going on!!
I love singing along with the radio! -drives my family mad!! Cos, I can't sing a note in tune, and can never remember all the words!!
Love visiting boot-sales for 'treasures'!! My last purchase was an old sewing box on legs, which I'm hoping to give a new lease of life, with a shabby-chic makeover!
loves to travel and see new places.
