Hello Dolly....

My lovely friend Linda and I
have been swapping art for over 3 years...
(Sorry, there is no link to a blog, 'cos she hasn't got one - although I think she should start one because her creations are amazing !)
...it all started with ATC's
...and has progressed to little altered items over the years.
-oOo-
I was recently inspired by a swap that Patty (Magpies Nest), Margaret (Alice and Camilla) and their QB5 group, where they traded altered items with each other.
.... they all sent each other different foundation pieces and a few other bits
to create something with.
-oOo-
So, these are the 'ingredients'from my craft stash that I sent to Linda...
(Oh, and we were also allowed to add anything from our own stash, but the main 5 items had to be used.)

I've had these little muslin dolls in my stash for a while, and thought it was time to dust of the cobwebs and make something with them, 2 doilies, lace, and some seam binding ribbon
-oOo-
..and this little pink beauty from Linda arrived in the post today.
I LOVE my little pink fairy !
Linda binded her body in fibres and ribbon (What a neat idea)
...and made her a little tulle fairy skirt
(which is hard to see clearly in this pic, but believe me it's fab !)
I love her unruly hair (just like mine, when I get up in the morning !)
..and those cute lil wings (made from one of the doilies)
....sweet little feet
...and no fairy is complete without her little magical wand.
-oOo-
..and this is what I did with my dolly for Linda (using all the same initial  ingredients..)
Bonjour la poupée
(Hello Dolly)
I painted her face, hair and shoes with paint.
...added buttoms, eiffel tower charm, pin, and some rubber stamping to her dress.

It was a fun swap
....but very challenging for us both, as it was so different to what we usually both do.
Well it seemed a good idea at the time when I sent the ingredients LOL
Thanks again Linda, for being a good sport, and taking up the challenge..
..and completing it so beautifully...
Sorry again for stressing us both out with it !! ALOL
-oOo-
Well, I'm glad to report that Linda is still speaking to me after giving her the Dolly challenge LOL
...and these are the ingredients that Linda has sent to me for our next trade...

..a nice little bundle of goodies :)
..Altoid tin, beaded trim, a large piece of Tulle, silky cream ribbon and roses...
Now, gotta get my thinking cap on !
-oOo-
Thanks for Looking!
Jan x

What a great idea to make up dolly's. Both turned out so different but so cute Jan.
I trade dominoes monthly with a girl in the US and we pick a theme each month and then make the domino in that theme. It's amazing what each of us interpret from it.
Take care and always love seeing what you are up to.
Hugs Les

ooo what a lot of fun Jan...we did find our "what do you see" challenge to be a great creative stretch and it was delightful to see everyone's different way of using same ingredients!

Your swap with your friend is a brilliant example of how we cannot hide our own creative style...it shines thru no matter what

Your painted dolly is fabulous Oui Oui!!! and having a new sweet fairy to watch over you is very special indeed!

Altering tins is a great challenge and swap too...I will look forward to seeing the results of that!

Happy June Days to you and yours!
