at Center Parcs in Longleat
Lots and lots of activity !!
(still a little saddle sore from all the bike riding !! TMI !! )
(still a little saddle sore from all the bike riding !! TMI !! )
Lots and lots of eating !!
and a couple mornings of play :)
While all the boys were all out doing some serious activity stuff
I booked myself into a couple of morning crafty sessions
An Art Class
..for some water colour techniques
most if it was mixing colours !!
Then we learned how to make a basic landscape
and some clouds
Here is my feeble attempt...
The Beach
I also had a go at silk painting
I really enjoyed this...
and made a silk wall hanging...
First we had to trace a template
I chose a pic of a
mystical mer-horse/ sea-horse creature
used gutta for the outline
then dyes to colour
and some salt and water
to create some wonderful effects
My Mystical Mer-horse
This was a lot of Fun
I will definately experiment with this medium again.

Hi Jan, I hope you haven't been buried under all the washing and, oh no, there'll be a whole stack more when they get back from camping!
Well done for making use of the Center Parcs crafting classes, your mer-horse is wonderful colours. I've never had a go at silk painting and one day I hope to.
Sorry you weren't able to make the Tracey Emin outing but hopefully we'll meet up another time soon.
xx
I love your silk painting! The colors are so soft and delicate and it really seems as though your seahorse is underwater! So pretty...something to treasure always.
Well done you combining a holiday and some crafty time too. Love your art, beautiful pieces. Tracy x

How great to experiment in so many different mediums...I've always loved watercolor but can't do it, and I've never even tried screen painting. Enjoyed looking at photos of your work! Have a great week!

What a great holiday that sounded! Makes me remember how I used to take the quilt I was making at the time on holiday when my girls were little, never waste a minute, that's my motto. Also I love the altered baby dress you showed on the previous post, you are megga talented!
