Spring-time in Paris Dress and some Vintage Matchbox Treasure...

Yep, it's time again for another paper dress for the Dress Up Challenge over at Margaret's blog Alice and Camilla
-oOo-
My April dress was inspired by Easter and Spring-time
....so I've made my dress with paper thats covered in eggs!
(which is actually an Easter napkin- from the Past-times shop, I've decoupagedthe napkin on to my dress template)..added some lace, ric-rac, buttons, tag and some spring flowers!

I also added some lettering and a little heart shaped image (covered in rangers crackle accents), layered on some lace.
(click on pic for a better view)

....and Lookie what wonderful treasures that I received in the mail today
...all the way from in Switzerland
I was so pleased when Margaret agreed to an altered matchbox trade
(Check out her lovely blog -I love her art style!!)

The bingo card, is Margaret's note card, what a Fabby idea
...and all wrapped in 1930's newspaper!!

...We decided on a vintagey (if that's a word -LOL) swap
...and WOW!! this is what Margaret made for me

...love the music paper and the vintage snap fasteners from the local summer market!

and theres more!!....

the reverse side, beautiful lacy flower!

But wait until you see this.......

All these gorgeous goodies were stuffed tightly inside the lovely matchbox.

Wowsa! So many lil treasures to look at...

....Stamps, buttons, german scraps, lace, charms etc........

...and if you look closely, spot the cute lil nest and paper bead, handmade by Margaret!

Thank you again Margaret - I love it!!

Now the only problem I had was getting everything back into the matchbox!!

-oOo-

Well, my altered 'Olde England' matchbox for Margaret is still travelling to Switzerland

I wont blog it, as I don't want to spoil the surprise!!

So here's a teeny little sneak preview!!

..all wrapped up!!

-oOo-

Thanks for looking!

Jan, totally fab April dress! I've also been playing around with paper napkins and love the transluscent effect they bring to a piece, just a hint of colour.
I'm so pleased you photographed the box as I only thought of it after I'd dropped it in the mail!! Enjoy your teeny treasures! Love the sneak peek! Mx

The dress is so spring fresh, it's lush! Love the crackled heart and eggy paper/fabric. And the altered matchbox.......what can I say? It's so gorgeous, outside and in! How on earth did all those gorgosities get in that box (and then out and then in again?!). FABULOUS stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you made for Margaret.

Jan, Andy sent me your blog address. Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment on mine. I love your dresses, really beautiful and so detailed. Where did you get the hangers from?Saw them in Stamper Sampler but haven't found anywhere that sells them.

Your April dress is gorgeous, so full of details. I always love the look I get from napkins. You have used yours to full advantage, that's for sure.

And it looks like Margaret's lovely matchbox was filled to the brim with Swiss goodness. She is so sweet and it's good to see the lovely one she made.

Yes, it is a small matchbox Patty! I don't know how Margaret fit so many goodies inside either, as I couldn't get them all back when I tried!!
