May Dress up and Olde England Matchbox.....

Whooo, haven't posted anything for over a week!!
Been soooo busy here redecorating my son's bedroom!
Run into a few minor hitches, but nearly all done now :)
..and the bedroom is looking pretty cool-even if I do say so myself LOL
-oOo-
But now time for some crafting....
Here is my May dress for
Margaret's DRESS UP

My inspiration came from peeking out of my craft room window at the garden.
...Birds were pecking at the bird feeder
..and flowers are just starting to bloom.
Then I remembered having some 'old' wallpaper border
which would be perfect for May's paper dress
..so I hunted through my stash
and found it!!
...I collaged the wallpaper border
...distressed it a little
...added some ribbon, lace, buttons, flowers and a tag.
I also found a clothing label, whilst searching for the border..
..and the colours on it matched perfectly
..so I sewed this to the bottom right of my dress
-oOo-
This makes dress #5 for my collection now
-oOo-
Pop over to Margaret's blog to see her fabby May dress
and all the other wonderful dresses from around the world!
-oOo-
If you remember from a previous post, Margaret and I swapped matchboxes recently
and I posted pics of the wonderful matchbox filled with treasures that she sent to me.
I know that Margaret has received my matchbox now, so it's safe for me to post pics !
Margaret requested an 'Olde England' theme
Mmmm, had to think hard about that one!!!
..so I went for the Tudor Queen herself...
Queen Elizabeth I
..cant get much Olde England than that!!!
I altered a puzzle piece with Queenie!
and filled the matchbox with goodies.
Thanks again Margaret for a fabby trade!!
-oOo-
Thanks for Looking!
Jan x

Gosh Jan, congratulations on both creations! The dress is sublime, well done for a) remembering you had the border and b) finding it and c) altering it in such a beautiful way! And the matchbox is divine. It is sooo Olde England, what with Queenie, the gold, drawer knob, and all the goodies. You had fun with that didn't you?! xxx

Fabulous dress Jan - really captures the season and the little dress label is great too!

Gorgeous matchbox, I think I would have really struggled with that theme, but you did wonderfully! I bet Margaret was well chuffed with it.

What an inspiration you must have, if you were able to create this beauty from what you see out your window into the garden. You have captured it beautifully in your lovely dress.

Love the matchbox, too. I'm sure it was just what Margaret wanted when she had that theme in mind.
